Leon Palandjian ,Chief Risk Officer
Leon Palandjian, Chief Risk Officer, is responsible for identification, analysis, and monitoring of enterprise risk. In addition, he provides oversight of capital market activities relating to the Intercontinental Real Estate Collective Investment Trust.
Dr. Palandjian’s experience spans real estate, the life sciences, and public and private equity. Prior to assuming his current role in 2017, he served as Manager of Intercontinental Capital Management LLC’s fund-of-funds portfolio starting in 2007. From 2000-2007, he invested in life sciences companies, first as a Principal at Flagship Ventures (2000-2003), then as a Portfolio Manager at a long/short equity hedge fund focused on the life science sector (2003-2006).
Dr. Palandjian has served as a trustee of the Mount Auburn Hospital since 2003, and chairs the Hospital’s investment committee. In addition, he has served as a Director of the Cambridge Trust Company since 2006. John Schmitt,Director, Institutional Services
John Schmitt, Director, Institutional Services, is responsible for establishing and maintaining Intercontinental's client and consultant relationships with a primary focus on the Taft-Hartley sector in the Tri-State area.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2010, Mr. Schmitt has been awarded the Security Mutual President’s Cabinet, the Million Dollar Roundtable (25 years) and Top of the Table (19 years) from the Security Mutual Life Insurance Company of New York. Mr. Schmitt has worked with Taft-Hartley union retirement funds since 1973. Prior to starting Schmitt-Sussman Enterprises, Inc., Mr. Schmitt played eleven years with the New York Jets, including winning the 1969 Super Bowl. During his years with the Jets, he served as their Captain, received All Pro Honors for 1968-1969 and received Most Valuable Line Man Honors for 1972. In 1974, John was traded to the Green Bay Packers and retired in 1975.
Mr. Schmitt is active with many charitable organizations and serves as a board member of several institutions, including; The Arthritis Foundation, Big Brothers & Sisters of New York, Nassau & Suffolk County Boy Scouts, Cancer Care, Cerebral Palsy Human Resource Center, Children Diabetes Foundation, Heart Association, Leukemia Society, Marty Lyons Foundation, Myasthenia Gravis Foundation, Lay Council of St. Paul's Church and Telecare.
Mr. Schmitt graduated from Hofstra University where he lettered in football, track and wrestling. During his years there he was Captain of the track and football teams receiving Little All American Honors and continues to serve on the Hofstra University Pride Club (Scholarship Club).
Jimmy Beloff,Director, Institutional Services
Mr. Beloff, Director, Institutional Services, is responsible for developing and servicing Intercontinental’s client and consultant relationships with a primary focus on Taft-Hartley and Public funds. Mr. Beloff has over 25 years of experience in both the Taft-Hartley and Public fund market and has previously been recognized as the Taft-Hartley U.S. Marketer of the Year.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2014, Mr. Beloff worked as a marketer, client service contact, and consultant to institutional asset management firms, primarily in the Taft Hartley and Public Fund sector. Mr. Beloff volunteers for a number of charities around the country.

Bart Weinstein, CAIA,Director, Institutional Services/Research
Mr. Weinstein works closely with institutional investors and investment consultants as part of the Institutional Services team. In addition to his investor relations responsibilities, Mr. Weinstein conducts investment and economic research within the alternative markets for the firm.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2010, Mr. Weinstein was a Deputy Team Leader on the fixed income analytics desk at Bloomberg L.P. in New York City. While at Bloomberg, Mr. Weinstein provided fixed income analysis for financial institutions.

Matthew Harrington, CAIA,Director, Institutional Services
Matthew Harrington is a Director with the Institutional Services group responsible for developing and servicing Intercontinental's clients and consultant relationships.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2014, Mr. Harrington was a Financial Analyst for the Teamsters Local 25 Health Services & Insurance Plan and an Administrator for the Teamsters Local 25 Investment Fund. During this time, Mr. Harrington was a member of the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and Massachusetts Coalition of Taft-Hartley Trust Funds.
Mr. Harrington has been a Big Brother through the Big Brothers Big Sisters Association of Massachusetts Bay since 2011.
Mr. Harrington earned his BS from Babson College in 2009, where he was a member of both the varsity hockey and lacrosse teams. He earned his MBA from Northeastern University in email@example.com
Dan Hidder,Director, Institutional Services
Based in Chicago, Mr. Hidder is responsible for servicing and expanding Intercontinental’s institutional relationships with a focus on the West and Midwest regions. He works closely with institutional investors and investment consultants as part of the Institutional Services team.
Prior to joining Intercontinental, Mr. Hidder was a Director of Marketing and Business Development at Segall Bryant Hamil (SBH), where he was responsible for client and consultant relations across the institutional marketplace. Prior to SBH, Mr. Hidder served as an Assistant Vice President of Consultant Relations at AllianceBernstein.

Peter Hapgood,Director, Institutional Services
Peter Hapgood is responsible for establishing and maintaining Intercontinental’s client and consultant relations with a primary focus on the public fund sector in Florida.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2010, Mr. Hapgood founded Public Pensions Incorporated, a public pension consulting firm that specializes in providing educational resources and services to public pension systems, organizations and related industry firms and professionals. Peter also worked as a partner in the public funds practice of Nordea Investment Management Company, and he previously served as the national director of public fund marketing for Freedom Capital Management Corporation.
He began his professional career as a legislative assistant in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and later taught and coached in the Southbridge, Massachusetts, public schools. Mr. Hapgood left teaching to become the Director of Program Development for the Massachusetts Teacher’s Retirement System and ended his public service career as the Deputy Executive Director for the MTRS in 1994.
Mr. Hapgood currently serves as the educational consultant for the Florida Public Pension Trustee Association (FPPTA) a position he has held since 1997. His knowledge, experience and dedication to trustee education are recognized throughout the public pension industry.
Peter also serves as the appointed trustee of the Southbridge, Massachusetts, Contributory Retirement System.Mr. Hapgood earned a bachelor’s degree in Public Administration from Nichols College and earned a master’s degree in Education from American International College.
Ross Vaillancourt, CAIA,Consultant Relations Officer
Ross Vaillancourt is a member of the Institutional Services group, with a particular focus on developing and servicing relationships with the investment consultant community. Mr. Vaillancourt spearheads the Request for Proposals (RFP's) efforts internally and supports the Institutional Services Group from a client service perspective.
Before joining Intercontinental in 2016, Mr. Vaillancourt was a Senior Associate with Segal Rogerscasey where he worked closely with members of the research team, the consultants, and the clients. While at Segal Rogerscasey, he managed key relationships with investment managers, custodial banks, and third party administrators. Mr. Vaillancourt was responsible for attending quarterly meetings where he provided guidance on plan level performance, investment manager performance, and made recommendations on asset allocation decisions.

Sara Mancuso,Operations Manager, Institutional Services Group
As a member of the Institutional Services team, Ms. Mancuso manages the operations of the sales, service and consultant relations effort. Ms. Mancuso has direct responsibility for overseeing the internal processes relating to marketing & client communication, consultant databases, Request for Proposals (RFPs), monitoring outstanding subscription agreements and for the overall coordination of marketing and client service activity.

Kristin Phalen,Officer, Institutional Services
Ms. Phalen is a member of the Institutional Services group, with a particular focus on client service. Ms. Phalen oversees the production of investor statements, account notices, and investor requests for information. Ms. Phalen attends investor conferences, and supports account service.
Prior to joining Intercontinental in 2014, Ms. Phalen worked for Boston Financial Data Services in various roles including Senior Auditor, Project Manager, and Client Relations Senior Advisor.
