Peter Palandjian, Chairman & Chief Executive Officer of Intercontinental, oversees the affiliated operating companies, with primary responsibility for Investment Strategy and Institutional Relationships. Prior to joining Intercontinental in 1993, Mr. Palandjian worked as the assistant to the CEO of Staples, Inc. Before joining Staples, Mr. Palandjian was an associate with Bain & Company, an international management consulting firm.

Founded over 50 years ago, Intercontinental is an SEC registered investment adviser and fully integrated real estate services firm with offices in Boston, Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles.  Intercontinental has built, developed, managed and owned in excess of $5 Billion of real estate. Today, Intercontinental manages approximately $2.0 Billion of institutional assets on behalf of public pension plans, foreign governments, foundations, police and fire retirement funds, university endowments, banks, corporate ERISA pension plans, and Taft-Hartley union retirement funds.

Mr. Palandjian holds memberships with the Pension Real Estate Association (PREA) and the National Association of Real Estate Investment Managers (NAREIM).  Mr. Palandjian has also been active on a number of corporate and not-for-profit boards. He presently serves as a board member of several institutions including: the Board of Overseers of the Boston Symphony Orchestra; Dana Farber Cancer Institute; the International Tennis Hall of Fame; Belmont Retirement Board; the New England Chapter of the National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP); the Fessenden School; O’Neill and Associates; Sovereign Bank New England Advisory; and the Taubman Center at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government.

Mr. Palandjian works on behalf of Harvard University as an undergraduate admissions interviewer. Mr. Palandjian was a two-time Harvard Captain and world ranked tennis player on the ATP tour. Mr. Palandjian earned his BA from Harvard University and his MBA from the Harvard Business School.
